RICHARD JAMES FREEMAN
FREEMAN, RICHARD JAMES 63 of Dartmouth passed away July 18th, 2004, as the result of an accident at Stanley Airport, Hants County. Born in Estevan, Sask. He was the son of the late Derrick "Jim" and Josephine (Cox) Freeman. Richard's schooling and university years were in Fredericton where he met Betty-Lou Anderson and they married in 1964. They moved to Western Canada spending most of their time in Winnipeg where their children were born, returning to Eastern Canada in 1973 living in Dartmouth. He received his MBA from St. Mary's in 1979-80. He spent the majority of his working career with the Nova Scotia Government retiring from the Nova Scotia Department of Education in 2001. Richard's passion and enthusiasm for life was reflected in everything he did and the values he instilled in his family. His interests were varied and he was accomplished at each. Surviving are wife Betty-Lou, son Jim (Kimberley), daughter; Louise (Michael) Chase all of Dartmouth, sister Jo-Anne Hemming, brother, Brian (Christine) all of Fredericton, grandchildren, Allie, Olivia, Lauren, Matthew, several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, July 21 in Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Pope John XXIII, Colby Dr., Dartmouth.
