HURLEY, LAVINA C. The death of Lavina C. Hurley of Doaktown, wife of the late Edward Hurley occurred on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at the Miramichi Hospital, Miramichi, NB. Born in Blissfield, NB, on February 20, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Clara (Brennan) Porter. Mrs. Hurley was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Church, Doaktown, member of the CWL. She is survived by one son, Rick Hurley (Sandra) of Fredericton; three daughters, Ruth Burns (Carl) of Miramichi City, Marion Donahue (Joseph) of Howards, NB and Muriel Johnstone (David) of Fredericton; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Hurley was predeceased by five sisters, Loretta McNeil, Mary McGahey, Ella Colford, Margaret McNeil and Sarah Ward; five brothers, Jack, Henry, Lawrence, Murdock, and James Porter; one grandson. Mrs. Hurley was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2004 at 11 am from Our Lady of The Annunciation Church, Doaktown with Rev. Mark Trzop as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Blissfield.
