Mabel Estella (Essie) Swallow, 84, passed away peacefully May 8, 2008. A longtime resident of Toronto, Essie (nee King) spent her youth in New Waterford, Cape Breton. Predeceased by her loving husband Angus (formerly of Thorburn), all his siblings: Joseph, John, James, Edith, Florence and Gerald; her parents, Eli King and Sybil (McFatridge). Essie is survived by her children: Judith (Al McIlwham), Wayne (Meeae Kim), all of North York, and Kevin (Lorna Proctor) of Stewiacke. Her devoted grandchildren: Alexis, Eli, Katrina, John Angus, Anna (Rory Hughes), Aileen and Allison and great-grandson, Nathan. Siblings Victor (Sally), Ursula Holstead and Bernie (Joan), many nieces and nephews. A small family service was delivered by Father Dennis Dolloff of the Church of Our Saviour. Interment at Necropolis Cemetery Toronto. The family requests donations to either ALS or Alzheimer Societies.
