Passed on: December 31st, 2008
GRAND PRAIRIE, Alberta - It is with sadden hearts that the family of MacKenzie James Fisher, 12, of Grand Prairie, AB, announce his sudden passing at the University of Alberta/Stollery Children's Hospital in Edmonton, AB., on Dec. 31, 2008. MacKenzie will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Kevin and Tania Fisher, Grand Prairie, AB; brother, Michael, Grand Prairie; Candace Fisher (Devin Walsh), Grand Prairie; paternal grandparents, Sidney and Bertha Fisher, Amherst, N.S.; maternal grandmother, Catherine MacKenzie, High Level, A; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Berton MacKenzie. He was known in school and in his community as a soft spoken, kind hearted boy who was always willing to put others before himself. Being said, a young sweet little boy asked his mother one day "when I go to heaven and I don't need my organs anymore can I give them to someone who needs them," and his wishes were fulfilled by his loving family. Funeral service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Grand Prairie, AB, Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009. Burial will take place in LaGlace, AB, in the Spring. Donations in his memory can be made to the University of Alberta/Stollery Children's Hospital, 8440 112 Street, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2B7. In recognition of the wonderful care and treatment they gave MacKenzie and his family in the Pediatric ICU during their time of need. Think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched...for nothing loved is ever lost...and he was loved so much.
