PLAINFIELD - Margaret Jean Stewart, 80, of Plainfield, Pictou County, passed away June 2, 2007, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Loganville, she was a daughter of the late James and Katherine (Harrington) Tattrie. She was very fond of children, was a Sunday School teacher for 22 years and also played organ at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Scotsburn. She is survived by sons, Donald (Judy), Scotsburn; George (Doris) Plainfield; Alan (Donna) Middle Sackville, N.S.; daughters, Jean Scott, Middle Musquodoboit; Marie (Jim) Sutherland, River John; grandchildren: Gloria Ann, Sarah Joy, Sarah Jean, Christopher Alan and Jamie Patrick; sisters: Nettie Cameron, Mt. Thom; Isabel Murray, Mt. Thom; Jessie MacKay, Four Mile Brook; and Ruth Smith, Loganville. She was predeceased by her husband, James; grandchildren, Bruce Alexander and Shawn; sons, Larry, and Charlie in infancy; sisters, Lillian, and Eliza Jane in infancy; brothers: Franklin, Lloyd, Eddie and Russell. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou, from where the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Mary MacDermid and Rev. Lara Scholey officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Scotsburn. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
