POIRIER, PATRICIA ANN "PAT" The death of Patricia Ann "Pat" Poirier of Fredericton, wife of the late Henri Poirier, occurred on September 17, at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Dalhousie N.B., she was the daughter of the late Lyall and Carrie (Grattan) Sturgeon. Pat was active in St Anthony's Catholic Church. She was employed at Jobs Unlimited, and enjoyed music and babies. Pat is survived by her brothers, Gordon Sturgeon (Inez) of Fredericton; Everett Sturgeon (Bernice) of Onanole, Manitoba; and Lyall Sturgeon Jr. (Valerie) of Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan; two sisters, Loyola "Lolly" Halfpenny (Douglas) of Mulgrave, N.S. and Jacqueline "Jackie" Esliger (Sherman) of Kingston, ON; one half-sister Thelma Fournier and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Patricia was predeceased by four brothers, Clinton, Cyril, Gerald and Thomas and her half-sister Greta McLaughlin. A special mention is given to Patricia's caregivers, her second family, who gave her so much tender loving care. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 20 between 7-9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 21, at 10 am from St Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Monte Peters officiating. Interment will take place at St. Don Bosco Cemetery, Dalhousie, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Mental Health Association would be appreciated by the family.
