HIRTLE, JEAN Jean Hirtle, wife of the late Freeman C. Hirtle, died September 28, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital after a period of failing health. The daughter of the late Herbert and Alberta (Daye) Gorman, she was born in Fredericton, NB in 1916, where she lived her entire life. Before her marriage, she was employed as a secretary at the University of New Brunswick. She attended Brunswick St. Baptist Church for several years. Her quiet manner and sense of humour endeared her to many. She is survived by one daughter, Pamela; one brother, Dr. Donald Gorman of Toronto; two sister-in-laws, Rita Gorman of Toronto and Margaret Gorman of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Freeman; her daughter, Nancy; two sisters, Gertrude and Marion; and one brother, Carl. There will be no visitation by request. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service held at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 30th, 2004 at 3:00 pm. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
