HIGGS, NORMAN GOULD Norman G. Higgs of Canterbury, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2004 at Carleton Manor, Woodstock, surrounded by his family and friends at his bedside. Born in Fosterville on November 30, 1917, he was a son of the late John and Beatrice (Gould) Higgs. Norman enjoyed woodworking, hunting, spending time in the woods and working on his woodlot on Pemberton Ridge. He especially enjoyed spending time with those he cared for most, his family. Norman is survived by two sons, Brian Higgs (Lenora), Fosterville and Gary Higgs, Edmonton, Alberta; two grandchildren, Jason Higgs and Jill Higgs, both of Fosterville; one sister, Annie Palmer, St. Stephen; a brother, Carl Higgs (Bertha), Forest City; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris Irva (Boyd) Higgs on March 14, 1997, an infant daughter, Judy Higgs, a sister, Helen Worrell and a brother, Laurel Higgs. Resting at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic with visiting hours Monday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Forest City Baptist Church, Forest City on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 2 p.m. Rev. Eldon Colwell officiating. Interment will be in the Forest City Cemetery. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Norman, the family has suggested the Alzheimer Society.
