Osmond, Mary Ann, 96, Pictou, passed away on September 22, 2007, at home. Born in Chapel Arm/ Trinity Bay, NFLD, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Emily (Cooper) Smith. Mary was an active member of St. James Church and a life member of the Sutherland Harris Memorial Auxiliary. Mary was also a volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross Blood Donor Clinic and was known for her good tea and homemade rolls, and enjoyed bingo , knitting and a good game of cards. Mary is survived by daughters; Ruth Nelson, Pictou; Elizabeth Osmond, Ft. McMurray, Alta; sons; Jack ( Heather), Halifax; Gary (Patti Jane), Fall River; Frederick (Penelope), Brampton, Ont; Philip (Diane), Berwick. Mary is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters and 1 brother. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Philip Kane Osmond, sons, Derek, Brian in infancy; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in the McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 25, at 2 pm in St. James Anglican Church, Pictou with Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in Mary's memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church or Red Cross Disaster Relief.
