Mary Elizabeth Boudreau, 92, born in L'Ardoise, residing in Little Anse, Cape Breton for most of her life, died August 27, 2008, at the Oddfellows Nursing Home in Pictou, NS. She was a daughter of Willie and Obeline (Samson) Martell. Mary is survived by her sons, Adelard (Blanche deceased) River Bourgeois; Francis (Janet), Sylvester; daughters: Gladys (James) Welsh, Lower Sackville, Rita (Carol) Leslie, Bridgewater; Vivian (Andrew) Samson, Little Anse; Helen (Alexi deceased) Martell, Arichat; Claudette (Louis) Landry, Ontario; brother, Alphonse (Judy); sisters: Rita (Irvine deceased) Brennen, Mary Bell (Lawrence A. deceased) Martell, all of Little Anse, 26 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Godfrey; daughter, Mable (Alfred deceased) Joyce; brothers, Lawrence W. (Alma), Charlie (Florence deceased); son, Alfred in infancy, and a sister, Eva. Visitation will be at IML Funeral Home, Petit de Grat, Thursday, August 28 from 7 to 9, and Friday, August 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with funeral Mass at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Petit de Grat, Saturday, August 30, at 10 a.m. Memorial donations in memory of Mary may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (1-800-889-5557). She was loved and will be missed by her family.
