MURPHY, WINNIFRED (HALFYARD) The death of Winnifred (Halfyard) Murphy, wife of Sandy Murphy, occurred on Friday November 19, 2004 at her home in Durham Bridge, NB. Born in Lamalime, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Churchill and Mary (Strickland) Halfyard. Winnifred loved owls, hummingbirds, salmon fishing and crocheting. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, David Murphy and Eileen of Alberta, Michael Murphy and Cathy of Alberta; two brothers, Albert Halfyard and his wife Lise of Harvey, Robert Halfyard of Ont; one sister, Shirley Lawrence and her husband Bob of Ont; two grandchildren, Nicole Murphy and Shawn Brennan; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation by request of the family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, at 2 pm from the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton. The Rev. Paul Thompson will officiate. An interment will take place at a later date.
