December 9th, 1916 - June 10th, 2008. Angels Cove/Denton, England. Passed away peacefully after a long fight with Parkinson's disease. A veteran of WW II, Bert served with the 59th Heavy Artillery Unit as a Master gunner, going ashore on Sword beach on D Day with the first wave of his regiment. He was predeceased by his siblings Ben, Alfred, Gertrude, James and Margaret. Left to mourn his sad passing, his wife Eileen; daughters: Diana (Stuart), Bernadette (Bernard) and his only grandchild Vicki (Mick). Brother Stephen (May), and his sister Ann (George). He was a much loved and cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle. The funeral will take place on Wednesday the 18th June at 12 noon and as per his wishes, a cremation is taking place.
