KANE, GERALD JAMES The death of Gerald James Kane of Fredericton, husband of Geraldine (Gould) Kane occurred on Sunday, December 5, 2004 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born in Bathurst, NB, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Boyle) Kane. Mr. Kane was a Postmaster in Bathurst for 15 years and worked for Canada Post for 44 years. He enjoyed sports especially Hockey. Besides his wife, Mr. Kane is survived by one son, John Kane (Mary) of Ottawa and one daughter, Judy Johnstone (Bruce) of Ottawa; four grandchildren, Lindsay, Sarah, Alexander and Alison. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 12 Noon from St. Theresa's Church, Royal Road, Fredericton, NB with Rev. John Jennings as the Celebrant. Interment will be in the Hermitage Cemetery, Fredericton. For those who wish, remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated by the family.
