
BURDETTE ALEXANDER CUMMINGS
CUMMINGS, BURDETTE ALEXANDER Burdette A. Cummings of Meductic passed away December 29, 2004 at the home of his son in Perth-Andover. Born at Dow Settlement in 1920, he was a son of the late Bertram and Elizabeth (McLellan) Cummings. Burdette worked as a woods contractor until his retirement. He served on the Meductic Village Council as councillor and deputy mayor and was a member of the Fire Department and the Meductic Baptist Church. He is survived by three sons, Ronald Cummings (Sheila), Perth-Andover, Curtis Cummings (Joyce), Somerville and Eric Cummings (Sheila), Meductic; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Collicott, Riceville, Jean Lloyd, Moncton, Esther Porter (Allison) and Ruth Howland (Oswald), both of Meductic; three brothers, Ralph Cummings (Dorothy), Russell Cummings (Reta) and Neil Cummings (Freda), all of Meductic; several nieces and nephews. Burdette was predeceased by his wife, Gladys (Grant) Cummings, two sisters, Phyllis Smith and Myrtle Tompkins and two brothers, Raymond and Woodrow Cummings. Resting at the Meductic Baptist Church with visiting hours Saturday, January 1, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the church on Sunday, January 2, 2005 at 2 p.m. Rev. Dale Greer officiating. Interment will be in the Upper Meductic Cemetery.
