Mrs. Mary Ellen Daley, 94, Westville. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mary at the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, on September 22, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Hattie (Harnish) Veinot-Osborne and John Veinot. She is survived by daughters Marguerite Myers, Halifax; Jean (Mike) Sarson, Mount William; Terry (Jim) MacDougall, New Glasgow; and son in-law Lew MacNaughton, Westville. She is also survived by her brother James "Bud" Veinot, Liverpool, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by husband, Robert; daughters, Doris in infancy, Joyce MacNaughton, and Kathleen McCarron; and sons-in-law Reg Myers and Joe McCarron. She was also predeceased by brothers William, Freemont, Hector, and Frank Veinot, and half brother Clyde Osborne ; sisters Nettie Baker, Esther Whynot, Betty Rafuse and Ethel Shupe. Mary worked in the cafeteria of the Aberdeen Hospital for 12 years. She was a member of the Lady Princess May Lodge L.T.B.A., Salvation Army Home League, Heritage Musical Group, Ukulele Band, Line Dancing, and Singers of Praise. Her favourite time was spent travelling with her daughters and doing jigsaw puzzles. She had a wonderful 94th birthday on Friday, September 21, with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Visitations will be held on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. The Lady Princess May Lodge will conduct a service at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Capt. James Sinclair officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery, Westville. A reception will follow at the Salvation Army Hall. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of choice.
