COLLINS - Nancy Jane 45 years of Cowan Street, Springhill, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her family after a 7 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of Austin Henry and Brenda Lee (Sweeney) Williams, Springhill. Nancy grew up on the Athol Road in Springhill and was a member of the Miller Corner United Church and enjoyed and playing all sports, especially baseball, hockey, basketball and soccer. She was employed with Ropak, Springhill, for 18 years and was also a licensed hairdresser. She enjoyed motorcycling with friends, car racing, loved the beach, her family and especially watching her sons play hockey. She is survived by her husband and best friend, John Eanis Collins; sons, Nicholas and Tyler both at home; brothers, Douglas A. (Kelly) Williams and Paul (Carrie) Williams; sister, Tracy (Sean) King; maternal grandmother, Helen Sweeney all of Springhill; uncles, Fred (Myrtle) Williams, Springhill and Greg Williams, BC; aunt, Bonnie (David) Rushton, Rodney; father and mother-in-law George and Joyce Collins, Southampton; special aunt Mariea Williams; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Douglas Williams and Eileen Williams-Taylor; maternal grandfather, Allister Sweeney. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 1 - 3 pm Wednesday, October 22, 2008 followed immediately at 3:00 pm by a Memorial Funeral Service with The Reverend David Lloyd-Pearce officiating, both held in St. Andrews-Wesley United Church, Springhill. Burial in Rodney Cemetery, Rodney, NS. If so desired, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
