Westville – Mary “Rita” LaLande, South Main Street, Westville, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at her home. Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (Guesizia) Cyr. She was a member of The Church of the Holy Name, Westville. She was employed at Gennoe’s Bakery and later at Riverview Residential Centre for several years until retirement. Rita is survived by her husband, Jean-Paul LaLande; sons: Paul LaLande (Maggie), New Glasgow; Dr. Phillip LaLande (Charlene), Owen Sound; and Pierre LaLande (Karen), Halifax; daughters, Anne Campbell (Greg), Westville; Darlene MacKenzie (Danny), Port Hope, Ont.; grandchildren: Charmaine Campbell (Mike), Westville; David LaLande, Halifax; Jean Paul LaLande, New Glasgow; Greg Campbell, Trenton; Kellianne MacKenzie, Port Hope, Ont.; Justin LaLande, Halifax; Damien LaLande, Edmonton, Alta; Danielle Stewart, New Glasgow; Daniel MacKenzie, Port Hope, Ont.; Dominique LaLande, Halifax; Marcus LaLande, Owen Sound; Rochelle LaLande, Halifax; great-grandchildren, Melissa Campbell, Westville; Chawntae Campbell, Westville; Taylor MacKenzie, Harleigh MacKenzie, and Landon MacKenzie, all of Port Hope, Ontario. She was predeceased by sisters: Mildred Ryan, Bertha Sarazini, Alice Mallay, Catherine Hill, Betty Charrier, Julia Fraser, and Della Noel; brothers: Alex, Joe and John Cyr. Visitations will be held today from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville, with Father Donald Boudreau officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Name Cemetery, Westville.
