Robert Owen Brownrigg

TELFORD - Robert Owen Brownrigg, 83, Telford, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2007, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Plainfield, he was a son of the late G. Johnson and Clara Mae (Bean) Brownrigg. He served overseas with The Carleton and York Regiment during the Second World War. Upon return home, he worked at MacLellan's Mill, James River. In 1959, he moved to Telford and joined Warren Maritimes Limited. Robert enjoyed gardening, home puttering, visiting antique sawmills and car museums. He was a gentle and quiet man, who will be sadly missed by family and friends. Surviving are son, Michael (Chris), Stellarton; daughters, Bonnie (Ken) Thomson, Langley, B.C.; Christene (Les) Shrum, Walton; sisters, Alice Baillie, Westville; Margaret Jeffers, Stellarton; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; lady friend, Betty MacKinnon, New Glasgow. He was predeceased by his wife, M. Joyce (Phelan) Brownrigg; sisters, Freida Langille, Edith DeLaMar, Hilda DeCerbo; brothers: Harold and Herbert, Frederick and Charles in infancy. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 34, Tribute Service 6:30 p.m., both today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, New Glasgow with Father Daniel MacLennan presiding. Donations may be made in his memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch or any charity of choice.
