HANCOX, IVAN RONALD On Monday April 11, 2005 surrounded by his wife and daughters. Ivan peacefully laid his armour down. Now his battle is over and his victory is won. He leaves behind his beloved wife Donna Isabel (Hersey) and his treasures, much loved daughters Carolyn Dakin (Rob) of Lincoln and Susan Reid (Jack) of Beaverdam; nieces and nephews as well as by his little cat "Cricket"; three special stepsons Rob Murray (Velma) of Fredericton, Andy Murray of Charlottetown, PEI, Jamie Murray of Fredericton; loving Papa of John Hancox (Cindy), Wayne Reid (Amanda), William Reid, Jenna Reid, Travis, Nicholas, Victoria, Larissa, Brianna, Kailey and Emily Murray. Proud to be born in "Rabbit Town" Fredericton, NB on July 14, 1935 the son of the late William and Iva Hancox. He shared a strong rapport with his two sisters Ada Riley of Harvey and Louise Steward (Ken)of Rothesay; his two brothers William (Mary) of Oromocto and Wallace of Sarnia, Ontario; brothers-in-law Hugh Riley of Fredericton. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Gladys and brother Charles Hancox. He worked for 23 years at the Chestnut Canoe Factory and then for 26 years at McFadzen Holdings. Following retirement, he enjoyed making lawn ornaments for friends and family. Ivan was a much respected person, a real gentleman, who had a wide array of friends and his sense of humour and kind heart will be sadly missed. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton with visiting on Wednesday from 3:30 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 pm The funeral service will be held on Thursday April 14, 2005 at the First United Pentecostal Church 71 Downing Street in Marysville at 12:30 pm with Rev. George Nixon officiating, assisted by Rev. Michael Trail and Rev. Raymond Woodward. Interment will be held at the Rural Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association. Pallbearers for the service will be John Hancox, Wayne Reid, William Reid, Travis Murray, Mark Steward, and Matthew Steward.
