Rosemary Anne Mcgill

Rosemary Anne McGill, (June 21, 1950-May 2, 2008) died at home in Claremont, California, with her daughters by her side. She faced the diagnosis of a brain tumour with courage and fierce determination. Formerly from Dartmouth, Rosemary was the beloved daughter of Elisabeth and the late Ronald McGill. She attended public school in Dartmouth, Dalhousie University and went on to attain her Masters of Library Science from California State University, Fullerton Campus. At the time of her death she had tenure at Cal State Fullerton Campus as a reference and access librarian, a job she truly loved. Rosemary had great respect for nature, a love of animals and enjoyed travel and adventure. Her last vacation with her late husband, Bob, involved climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Rosemary will be remembered as a loving and devoted daughter, wife and mother and a wonderful sister. She was predeceased by her father, Ron McGill and her husband, Robert Anderson. Surviving are daughters, Brinton Anderson-McGill and Taylor Anderson-McGill, both of Claremont; mother, Elisabeth, Pictou; brothers,?Ian (Sherma), Pictou; Michael (Debbie), Shelburne; sister, Susan (Ron Nugent), Rothesay, New Brunswick; mother and father-in-law, Shirley and Robert Anderson, Denver, Colorado; sister-in-law, Lee, Denver, Colorado; three nieces and three nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, from Pictou United Church with Michael Simmons officiating.
