BLACK POINT – Olive “Ruby” Bowering, passed away December 22, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born in St. John’s, NL, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Beatrice (Churchill) Hawkins. Surviving are her son, Wally; daughter, Jeannette; brother, Eric (Ruth). Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wallace; daughter, Valerie; sister, Helen. As were her wishes cremation will take place. There will be no visitation at her request. A family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Church Brook Cemetery, Little Harbour. Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
