COREEN MARY HAINES
HAINES, COREEN MARY Coreen Mary Haines passed away April 22 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital as she had lived, with courage and grace. She was in her 83rd year. Born in Chatham, N.B. on June 13, 1921 as the daughter of James and Grace Burns. Left with cherished memories are her loving children Karen Kaye (William) of Alberta, Robert Purdy (Jackie) of Michigan, Judy Jones (Robert) of Halifax and Debbie Martin (Jacques) of Fredericton. 8 grand-children - Tammy, Pamela, Mark (Michelle), Kelly (Susan), Randy (Shannon), Robert (Tanya), Jackie (Andrew) and Randy. 8 great grand-children - Lauren, Samantha, Ryan, Matthew, Kelsey, Olivia, Navaeh and Cody. Nephew James Halberda and niece Karen Ann Murphy along with many wonderful friends who also respected this woman of great faith, quick wit and humor, compassion and above all, strength. Although small in stature, Coreen's strength will echo in the hearts of those who witnessed her courage during her illnesses. Despite suffering in great pain, Coreen chose to focus on the comfort she found in reminiscing of days gone by. Days spent in her career as a dedicated and passionate nurse, sharing stories as she rejoiced in the successes of her children and grandchildren, of the time spent with her predeceased twin sister Audrey Kerr, of the love she experienced with her predeceased husbands Lester Haines and Bruce O'Neil and above all, the moments of endless laughter and happiness through her journey in life. A most gracious thank you to the doctors and nurses who provided Coreen with the very dignity, care and professionalism she once gave to her own patients. In honour of Coreen's sincere request there will be no visitation. A private church service and burial will be for the immediate family. In Coreen's memory, do as she loved to do, spend precious time with those dear to you cherishing each moment for we never know when time will only be but a memory. In lieu of flowers, donations to the N.B. Kidney Foundation, or the Wilmont United Church Music Fund would be appreciated. The family is sincerely comforted by the guidance of Bishop's Funeral Home in this time of need and sorrow. www.bishopsfuneralhome.com
