DOAK, C. EVERETT The death of C. Everett Doak, husband of Doris P. (Hunter) Doak occurred on Sunday, April 24, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born on September 23, 1921 in Boiestown, NB. He was the son of the late Charles and Lillian (Nagle) Doak. Everett was a member of the Church of St. Peter of the Anglican Church, Springhill. He was a Federal Superannuate, retired from Parks Canada after serving 35 years with the Federal Government. He was with Dominion Forest Service for several years and transferred to the National Parks of Canada in 1951. He was superintendent of the following National Parks: Point Pelee, ON; Cape Breton Islands, NS; Yoko, BC; Terra Nova, NF; Kejimkujik, NS; Revelstoke & Glacier, BC. He worked in the Regional offices of Parks Canada in Winnipeg and Halifax and spent one year in head office, Ottawa. During his tenure at Terra Nova National Park, NF, he organized an Air Cadet Squadron which he was the commanding officer. He worked with many youth groups over the years, managing and coaching Baseball and Hockey. He constructed a baseball field and hockey rink in most of the parks that he was in charge. He was a veteran of World War II. He served five years with the Royal Canadian Air Force (1940-45). He served in Canada, England, Scotland, and North Africa, was discharged a Sergeant. Later he obtained a commission in the reserve as a pilot officer with the rank of Flight Lieutenant. He continued his education after the war at the University of New Brunswick graduating with a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Forestry Engineering in 1949 and took post graduate courses at Carleton University Banff School of Fine Arts, Mesoula. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 in Fredericton, Masonic Lodge #11, Golden BC, Federal Superannuate National Association, and NB Forestry Association. After retiring, he was a volunteer consultant with Canadian Executive Services Overseas (CESO). In addition to his wife, Everett is survived by two sons, Read O. (Flora) Doak of Taymouth, NB and C. Arden (Paulette) Doak of Fredericton, NB; two grandchildren, Scot (Tracy) Doak and Amanda (Michael) Crouse; one precious great grandchild, Jenna Crouse; one sister, Mrs. Birdena Hovey of Fredericton, NB; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Ellen Doak and Daisy Trevors; and three brothers, Nelson, James, and Phillip Doak. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday from 2-4 and 79 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 4 are asked to assemble at York Funeral Home at 7 pm for a Legion Tribute Service. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at 2:00 pm from St. Peters Anglican Church, Boiestown, NB with Rev. Dr. Ross Hebb officiating. Interment will take place in St. Peters Anglican Church Cemetery.
