ROBERT M. PARKS

PARKS, ROBERT M. Robert Merlin Parks of Fredericton, NB passed away after a lengthy illness at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, April 29, 2005. Robert will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Deborah Doherty and his sons, Michael Parks (Halifax, NS) and David Parks (Kelowna, BC) both of whom he adored. Robert was born in Newcastle, but grew up in Tide Head, NB with a love of rural life, sports, and the Restigouche River. Robert attended teacher's college and taught high school before returning to university. He graduated from St. Thomas University and held fond memories life in residence. He pursued graduate studies at Memorial University and McGill University. Robert and his wife spent two wonderful years of graduate research in Kenya. Robert was a senior policy analyst for 18 years with the New Brunswick Department of Labour (now TED), taking early retirement in 2001. Robert is predeceased by his parents; Merlin A. Parks (Derby) and Jean (Gerrard) Parks (Tide Head). Robert will be sadly missed by his inlaws, nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins, and his many dear friends. There will be no visitation or funeral service on Robert's request. However, his family will hold a memorial service in the future to celebrate his life. Special thanks to Dr. Anne Colpitts and Dr. Sid Grant, the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit and Extra Mural for their care and kindness.
