SVENDSEN, SIGURD Mr. Sigurd Svendsen, 93, of New Denmark passed away at the Grand Falls General Hospital, May 20, 2005. He was the husband of the late Beatrice Marion Sorensen. He was a member of Colebrooke Lodge # 39, F. & A. M. He is survived by one son, Lloyd (Sharon) of Fredericton, three daughters, Nathalie Copp of Tottenham, Ontario, Alice Hansen and Carol Hendricksen (Kevin) of New Denmark, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one brother, Mogens "Mart" of London, Ontario, sister-in-law, May Higson of Barefoot Bay, Florida, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sons-in-law, Stanley Copp and A. Paul Hansen. Resting at St. Ansgar's Anglican Church, New Denmark, with visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. There will be a masonic service Sunday evening at 8 p.m. His funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from St. Ansgar's Church, with Rev. Julie Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Donations in his memory to the St. Ansgar's Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
