THORBURN – Shirley Edith Haggart, Thorburn, passed away Friday, January 11, 2008, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of Edith Cavanaugh, New Glasgow, and the late James Hanham. She had been a resident of Thorburn for the last 28 years. Shirley enjoyed attending antique car shows. She is survived by her husband, Billy, Thorburn; sister, Sandra MacKay, New Glasgow. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in Thorburn Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Pictou Co. S.P.C.A.
