Alice Catherine Douglas

HALIFAX – Alice Catherine Douglas, 58, of Clayton Park, formerly of Thorburn, passed away Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009. Born in New Glasgow, Alice was a daughter of Elise (Bain) and the late John “Jackie” Campbell. She was a resident of Clayton Park since July 2008, prior to which she resided in Regina for 13 years. She had been employed with Nova Scotia Savings and Loans, Central Guarantee Trust, Toronto Dominion and later C.I.B.C. Alice was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, Thorburn. She was a seamstress and enjoyed quilting and cooking. She loved to walk and volunteered for the C.I.B.C Run for the Cure. She is survived by her husband, Victor, Clayton Park; daughter, Lesa Douglas, Drumheller, AB.; son, Ernest (Nancy), Valley, N.S.; brother, Stan (Claudette) Campbell, MacLellan’s Brook; niece, Karen (Robert) and her children: Tyson, Sean and Jana. Alice was predeceased by her father, John Frederick “Jackie”. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, from St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, with Father Colin MacKinnon officiating. Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Cemetery at a later date. Very special thank you to the staff of the Allan Blair Cancer Center, the Oncology Department and the Palliative Care Center at the Queen Elizabeth II, V.G. site.
