Bernice Evelyn SMITH

SMITH, Bernice Evelyn 18 September 1923 - 13 March 2008 Bernice was the 3rd of four daughters to Jessie and Fred Brown; she was born and raised on a farm which had been homesteaded by her grandparents (Agers) in the Petrolia District near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Bernice attended Central Collegiate and then worked for a time as a secretary. She moved into the city of Moose Jaw where she married and then raised her three daughters. In 1990 Bernice came to live in Invermere, BC where she made many friends joining the Columbia Valley Choir, the senior's bowling and curling leagues and was a Thrift Store volunteer. Bernice was an avid golfer and enjoyed being a member of the Radium Golf Resort, participating in many tournaments and in the BC Senior Games. Her golfing also led her on trips to Costa Rica, Bahamas and Dominican Republic. Other travels took her to England, Scotland and Greece. Forever loved by her family: daughters Sandra (Ott), Patricia (Dodich) and Jo-Anne; sons-in-law Kerry Ott and Jimmy Dodich; granddaughters Katelin, Lillian and Rya; grandson Winston and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her husband Stanley; her sisters Dorothy (Garner), Jean (Avery) and Virginia (Duncan). Bernice's energy and kindness will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
