RUDOLF FRANZ KNAPPE
KNAPPE, RUDOLF FRANZ Rudolf Franz Knappe of Tracy, N. B. passed away peacefully at his Home on August 26, 2005 with his wife Renate (Rene) by his side. She cared for him faithfully throughout his lengthy illness and was a constant comfort to him until the Lord called him home. Born in Hermanstadt, Sudetenland, Germany in 1930, he immigrated to Canada in 1952 and worked in the woods until the purchase of his farm in Fredericton Junction in 1957. He and his family ran a successful dairy farm for 30 years and during that time he served as secretary of the Agriculture Society. Rudolf loved birds, especially Purple Martins and was very active in the Fredericton Racing Pigeon Club. Rudolf, having a passion for wood spent much of his retirement producing fine wood working and carvings, other hobbies included photography and reading. But above all he enjoyed the company of his children and grand children. He is survived by four children: Marion Fowler (daughter), husband Rockland, their children Shane, Rudi, Mandy, Josh and Natalie; Manfred Knappe (son) his wife Lori, their children, Justin, Kristopher and Kurtis; Richard Knapp (Son) his wife Donna, their children Sean and Andrew; Angela McDonald (Daughter) and husband Vaughn, their children Laura and Marcus; one sister Christa Pollak (Edgar) of Germany; one brother Alfred Knappe (Barbara) of Fredericton; several nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Anna (Sentner) and Rudolf Knappe, two brothers Joseph and Edmond. Relatives and friends are invited to Tracy Baptist Church for visitation on Monday 12 noon to 1:30. Funeral service will be from the Tracy Baptist Church on Monday, August 29, 2005 at 2 P.M. with the Rev. James Harrison officiating. Interment to follow in the Tracy Baptist Cemetery.
