JOHN GILBERT GRASS

GRASS, JOHN GILBERT John G. Grass of Lake George passed away on October 18, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born at Oromocto West, NB in 1927, he was a son of the late Moses and Minnie (Tilley) Grass. John was self-employed in lumbering and construction and was employed by Durham Consolidated Mines, Kings Landing and for ten years with CPR. He served for 15 years as Director of Southwest Development. John was a founding member of the Lake George Snowmobile Club and past member of the Loyal Orange Lodge and BlackKnights. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis E. (MacLean) Grass; three daughters, Joanna Corning (Jim) and Katherine Sprott (Claude), both of Lake George and Cindy Calhoun (Beverly), Hawkshaw; one son, Larry Grass (Beth), Lake George; ten grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Beulah Lawson, Longs Creek; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by one brother, DouglasGrass. Resting at Second Kingsclear Baptist Church, 15 Mazerolle Settlement Road, Upper Kingsclear with visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the church on Friday, October 21, 2005 at 2 p.m. Rev. Eugene Morell officiating. Interment will follow in Magundy Sand Bank Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons John Cliff, Steven Cliff, Marty Sprott, ScottSprott, Benji Calhoun, Seth Grass and Mikel Grass.
