MERRILL, DAVID RICHARD The death of David Richard Merrill, husband of Tressa (Palmer) Merrill, of Cross Creek, NB, occurred on October 20, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on July 2, 1923 in Greenhill, NB, he was a son of the late Rowley and Mae (Cooper) Merrill. He was a member of the Hillcrest United Church, Stanley, NB. David was a Peace time Veteran from 1955 - 1970 with the Service Corp of Canadian Armed Forces. Mr. Merrill retired as a chef. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Warren R. Merrill (Geraldine) of Maple Grove, NB, Brent Merrill (Charlotte) of Maugerville, NB and Roland John Merrill (Pamela) of Dartmouth, NS; three daughters, Linda MacNally of Victoria, BC, Beatrice Mae Merrill (Brian) of Maple Grove, NB and Susan Lynn Merrill (Mike) of Greenhill, NB; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pauline Annie Cain of Marysville, NB, Pearl Melvine Preen (Robert) of Ottawa, ON and Mary Bernice Amos (Darrell) of New Maryland, NB; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, John Royden "Jack" Merrill; three sisters, Louise Florence Steele, Myrna Elizabeth Hawkes and Jean Isabelle McCrea; and grandson, Jason John Hurley. Visitation will take place at Hillcrest United Church, Stanley, NB on Friday from 6 to 9 pm and Saturday from 12 to 1 pm. The Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 1 pm from the Hillcrest United Church with Rev. Murray McFarlane officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest United Church Cemetery. Reception to follow at David and Tressa Merrill's Home.
