Helen Aletha Breen October 24, 1924 - April 13, 2008 Helen Aletha Breen passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C. Helen, born in Star City, SK, spent her formative years in Melfort, where she met and married Rev. Daniel Breen in 1943. She was a tremendous asset to "Danny" throughout their 64 years of marriage and 45 plus years of ministry, serving the Apostolic Church of Pentecost in Oliver, BC, Hibbing, MN, Moose Jaw, SK, Surrey, BC and Saskatoon, SK. Her pride and joy were her four children Sharon (Richard) Holte, Grant (Mary), Ross (Rennae) and Vernette (Ronald) Brown; as well as her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She provided them with unconditional love, guidance and encouragement. She was predeceased by her husband Danny in February, 2007, infant son Daryl, parents Joseph and Mary Stanton. She will be missed by her family and friends, however, she now rests securely with her Saviour and Lord in eternal peace. She enjoyed sewing, entertaining friends and family and traveling abroad to visit many missionaries throughout the world. Helen's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Renal Ward staff at Royal Jubilee Hospital and especially her caring nurses Kathleen, Liz and Sarah, as well the Marrion Village Residence caregivers provided wonderful, nurturing care for her. A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from People's Church, 14455-104 Ave., Surrey, BC, followed by a time of fellowship and refreshments. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 14660-72 Ave., Surrey at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Helen requested memorials be given to the Daniel Breen Memorial Church Planting Fund, c/o ACOP, 2340 Pegasus Way N.E., Calgary, AB, T3E 8M5 or visit website acop@acop.ca
