MERLE EDWARD HOWLAND
HOWLAND, MERLE EDWARD The death of Merle Edward Howland, "Moose", of Marysville, NB, occurred on November 24, 2005 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 7, 1942 in Fredericton, NB, he was a son of the late Bernus and Muriel (Moore) Howland. Mr. Howland worked for the Town of Marysville and the City of Fredericton and was affiliated with the Olivet Wesleyan Church in Marysville, NB. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fiddleheading, baseball and the outdoors. Merle is survived by his daughter, Gloria (James) McCoy of Fredericton, NB; his sister, Darlene Snyder of Fredericton, NB; one grandchild, Shane McCoy; four nieces and nephews, Susan Stokes, Kathy Arsenault, Rodney Howland and Angie Snyder; special caregivers, Jamie Young, Donna Handrahan and family. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Dow Howland. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday from 7 to 9 pm and again on Saturday from 2 to 3 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 3 pm from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Lona Johnston officiating. Interment will take place at Olivet Wesleyan Cemetery, Marysville, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Diabetic Association or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
