Mullis, Josephine It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, gramma, sister and aunt, Jo Mullis , predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years Frank. She was born on June 5, 1926 in Kandahar Saskatchewan, to Jon Bjorgvin and Gudbjorg (Johnson), Vopni, the youngest of 3 daughters. After completing high school in Winnipeg, she took a comptometer course to become an accountant, after which she moved to Prince Albert to work for the Saskatchewan Livestock Pool. While there she met a young sailor, just back from the war, Frank Mullis. She said "He danced his way into my heart". They were married in Kandahar on June 5, 1946. Prince Albert became home for their two fine sons and friends galore. In 1974, Frank and Jo transferred to the Livestock Pool in Moose Jaw, where they both worked until their retirement, mom in 1986 and Dad in 1990. Mom loved her golf with a passion at Hillcrest, bowled in winter and spent time with her family whenever possible. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her family Larry and Denise Mullis and Jason Mullis of Victoria B.C. Dennis and Marni and Clayton Mullis of Prince Albert, Melissa Mullis and Cory Schadt of Calgary, Celeste and Sean Smith of Calgary, her sisters Ro Sveinbjornson of Sacramento California, Agnes Reiberger of Innisfail Alberta, her special friend and golfing buddy Marilynne Dutchek, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her brothers in-law, John Sveinbjornson and Johnny Reiberger by her brothers Harold, Cyril, Bob, Bill and Ambrose Mullis and by her special niece Rosalynne King. A memorial service will be held at the Parkview Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with an interment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
