MICHAEL ANGUS NOLAN

NOLAN, MICHAEL ANGUS With a sad heart the family of Michael A. Nolan announces his death at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday 30 December 2005. Michael passed away peacefully with his family at his side. Born in Glace Bay, NS on 20 April 1930 he was the son of the late Michael Nolan and Sarah (Moore) Nolan. Michael was retired from the Canadian Armed Forces having served with the 1st Battalion Black Watch Royal Highland Regiment of Canada, Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry and the 2nd Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment. His career took him to Camp Aldershot, Germany, Canadian Forces Base Borden and Canadian Forces Base Gagetown. He was an avid sportsman he golfed, hunted and played hockey. He was on the Black Watch hockey team that was inducted into Oromocto's Sports Wall of Fame. His greatest passion was fishing, spending many happy days at his favourite fishing holes. Michael is survived by his loving wife Marilyn (Graham) and daughter Kelly the light of his life. Sisters Ernestine (George) Penny of Halifax, NS, Charlena McMullin and Anne Sabourin both of Ottawa, ON and Mellie Boyce of Sydney,NS. Brothers Joe (Emma), Leo (Bubs) both of Glace Bay, NS, Terrance and Blair (Eline) both of Halifax, NS. He also will be sadly missed by Robert and Theresa Graham, Linda and Rick Howatt, Robert and Dawna Graham, Karen and Mike Gervais, Cathy and Greg Gervais as well as many nieces, nephews and hockey and fishing buddies. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sisters Margaret, Etta and Christina. Brothers Billy and John (December 19, 2005) and brother-in-law Richard Graham. At Michael's request there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will take place on Friday, 6 January 2006 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent De Paul, Oromocto, NB. He requested that donations be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Alzheimer's Society.
