VIRTUE On ESTEY
ESTEY, VIRTUE On Sunday, January 29, 2006, our Mum and Nanny, Virtue Estey of Zealand slipped away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital while in the comforting embrace of her family. Born in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland in 1917, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Emma (Curtis) Sullivan. Virtue enjoyed quilting, knitting, gardening and cooking. She was Anglican by faith. She is survived by two daughters, Edith Hardy and Mary (Betty) Ivimey, both of Zealand; a sister, Rita Moores, Pouch Cove, NF; two granddaughters, Amy Hardy, Fredericton and Elizabeth Bird (Michael), Burtt's Corner; three great grandchildren, Zayne Hardy, Delaney and Matheson Bird; several nieces and nephews. Virtue was predeceased by her husband, Percy E. Estey in 1998; seven brothers, Eli, Alexander, Richard, Gordon, Joshua, Edgar and Archibald and two sisters, Mildred and Barbara. Resting at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 1407 Route 104, Zealand with visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Anthony Kwaw officiating. Interment will be later at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Bird, Michael Williams, Michael Brewer, Earl Brewer, Terry Best and Colin Brewer. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Virtue, the family has suggested St. Paul's Anglican Hall fund or the Red Cross for home care equipment.
