Anne Kathleen Adams

Anne Kathleen Adams passed away peacefully on May 23, 2008, at Avonlea at the Coteau Range Manor Care Home. Anne was a long time resident of the Drinkwater district and later of Briercrest. She was born in Montmartre on May 5, 1913. Anne married Russell Adams and they farmed in various locations settling near Drinkwater in 1947. She operated a roadside caf%C3%A9 at Drinkwater for several years until 1983 when she officially retired in Drinkwater where she spent many years gardening and enjoying the friendships of many. In 2002 she moved to Briercrest with her Grandson, Russ and enjoyed four years of church activities, going to the rink for Friday night suppers and her favourite pastime of playing Bridge with the group at the Briercrest Community Centre. In 2006 her health failed to the point where she had to move to a permanent care home. She chose the Coteau Range Manor at Avonlea and enjoyed the good care and fellowship there for sixteen months before her death. Many people in the community contributed to her well being by driving her to the many social activities in Briercrest. She is predeceased by her husband Russ in 1974 and her daughter, Joyce in 1985. Also predeceasing her are all her siblings: Frank, Helen, Barbara, Rose, Marian and George. She is survived by her daughter, Joanell Krosby of Vancouver, her two special great nieces Barb Bailey (Rick) and Marilyn Torrie (George), by her Grandchildren: Lou Klassen (Mike) of Moose Jaw, George Woods, Jeanne Walker (Dennis) Kim Barbero all of Vancouver and Russ Adams of Briercrest. Great-grandchildren: Louise Toews, Christy Walker, Sara Woods, Carmen Barbero and Hannah Barbero, Great-great-grandchildren: Adam, Matthew and Jonny Toews and Colby Walker. A public visitation will be held on Wednesday at the PARKVIEW FUNERAL HOME, 474 Hochelaga St. W. Moose Jaw from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 28th, from the Briercrest United Church, Briercrest, SK. At 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Marilyn Keerak officiating Interment service will follow at Drinkwater Cemetery. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Coteau Range Manor for their kindness and dedication in caring for Grandma. They were there right to the very end and really became her family. Memorials to the Drinkwater Cemetery fund or the Briercrest Community Center would be appreciated.
