MITCHELL, VALERIE JEAN On Friday, March 10th, 2006, Valerie J. Mitchell of Fredericton, NB passed away peacefully at the York Manor Nursing Home after a long and courageous battle at the age of 77. Born in Fredericton, she was the daughter of the late Brydone and Thelma (Delong) Richardson and wife of the late Darrell F. Mitchell. Valerie worked at Belmore's Yarn Store and at Irving Oil Ltd., was a chartered member of Mick Mack Trailer Club and was known as an avid bowler who bowled for years in many provincial tournaments. Survived by her children Meredith Nason (Chris) of Fredericton, Lester (Sharon) of Maugerville; two grandchildren Joel and Jessie Nason; brother Ronald Richardson (Donna) of Kitchener, ON; two sister-in-laws Ellen Mitchell of Fredericton, Phoebe Richardson of Ottawa; one brother-in-law Waldo Mitchell of Fredericton; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother Daryl Richardson. By Valerie's request there will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held on Sunday March 12th, 2006 from Bishops Funeral Home Chapel 540 Woodstock Rd. at 3:30 PM with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will be held in the Sunny Bank Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke Fund.
