RICHARD GILBERT POLCHIES
POLCHIES, RICHARD GILBERT At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday March 10, 2006 Richard Gilbert Polchies of Kingsclear First Nation passed away at the age of 69. Born in Oromocto, NB he was a son of the late Mitchell and Margaret (Paul) Polchies. Richard was a former Chief and Councilor of Kingsclear First Nation. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved to play bingo. He is survived by his wife Monica; children Bernadette Paul of Fredericton, Dana Ginnish of Kingsclear, George Ginnish of Kingsclear; step-children Arnold Ginnish of BC, Jack Ginnish of PEI, Delores Ginnish, Rene Dedam and Patricia Smith all of Burnt Church, NB, Edwina Ginnish of Eel Ground, NB; grandchildren Domonique Sacobie, Summer Saulis, Samantha Carr, Cedar Nicholas, special grandson Isaiah Ginnish; sister Rose Atwin of Kingsclear; several nieces, nephews and cousins; special nephews Pat Polchies and Victor Atwin. He was also predeceased by a daughter Pauline Ginnish and brothers Patrick Polchies, Alfred Neil Polchies and Leonard Polchies, George Polchies; a sister Mary Alice Sabattis. Resting at his late home 402 Kingsclear Avenue, Kingsclear First Nation on Monday and Tuesday afternoon and evening. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday March 15, 2006 at 11:00 am at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Kingsclear First Nation with Father Bonnaventure Annan and Father Ken Weir officiating. Interment will be held at St. Ann's Church Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the NB Lung Association would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the care & direction of Bishop's Funeral Home 540 Woodstock Road Fredericton. Pallbearers for the service will be Bert Sacobie, Justin Paul, Patrick (Tyke) Polchies, Victor Atwin, Frank Sabattis and Richard (Jimmy) Sabattis.
