Passed on: June 28th, 2008

Collins Roy Sadlemyer of St. Walburg, SK passed away on Monday, June 28, 2008 at the age of 61 years. Collins was born on November 23, 1946 to Ernest and Mary Sadlemyer. His sister, Mary Ellen, came along six years later. Collins grew up on the family farm in the Mossbank community. At the tender age of 17, Collins lost his father; he began his years of helping his mother make a living farming the land, to support the three of them. Collins started his own family, first with a son, Gerald, in 1969, and then a daughter, Terry, in 1970. His passions were hunting, playing ball, visiting with friends and spending time with family. He enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors. He was an avid antique collector and he loved garage sales. He had a wealth of history knowledge. In 1999, Collins decided to try his hand at truck driving. He relocated to St. Walburg and began his years in the oilfield, first with 3K, then Flint. In 2005 Collins invested in his own truck. He was well liked and respected by all his co-workers and those who met him while working in the oilfield. In July of 2002 Collins was reacquainted with Irene. They began a new well-deserved chapter of their lives together, enjoying each other's company whether it was yard work, playing crib or out for a quad ride. Just being together, they made each other so happy. He worked very hard for himself and Irene, as they planned for their retirement. Collins was predeceased by: his father, mother and baby sister. Collins is lovingly remembered by: his partner and special friend, Irene; his son, Gerald (Rhonda) and their children, Jordan and Kelsey; his daughter, Terry Lynn (Chris) and their children, Carter and Teneille; his extended family, Ken (Shannon) and their children, Mackenzie and Carter, Kathy (Sean) and their children, Erika and Brody, Keith (Amanda) and their daughter, Kiley; his sister, Mary Ellen (Pat); his nephew, Adam; his niece, Shannon (Daryl); his great nieces and nephews, Kristen, Dylan, Tasha, Kourtney, Brandon and Emma Rae; and numerous special cousins, aunts and friends. A Graveside Service was conducted from the St. Walburg Municipal Cemetery, St. Walburg, SK on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Don Retzlaff officiating. Cal Sutor gave the eulogy.
