HUGHES, LEONARD JOSEPH The death of Leonard Joseph, husband of the late Marion (Boyle) Hughes, occurred on Tuesday May 30, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Barker's Point NB., he was the son of the late David and Georgina (Carten) Hughes. Leonard was an avid outdoorsmen, he loved working in the wood pile, gardening and in his younger years he loved to fish and hunt. He is survived by two daughters Darlene O'Neill (Harvey) of Noonan NB and Dianne (Brian) Lawson of Woodstock NB; five sons Douglas (Marlene) of Fredericton NB, David (Yvonne) of Red Deer Ab, Dale (Linda) of Abbottsford, BC, Everett of Noonan NB and Tim (Debbie) Hughes of Maugerville NB; fifteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother Lewis Hughes and one sister Bessie Joyal. Visitation will be held from York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr. Fredericton NB on Thursday June 1, 2006 at 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday June 2, 2006 from Smythe Street Cathedral at 2pm with Rev. Jim Lewis officiating. Reception to follow service. Burial will be in the Sunny Bank Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the IWK Children's Hospital or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
