EARNEST FARRER

FARRER, EARNEST The death of Ernest Farrer, husband of Alma (McKay) Farrer of 353 Gibson St, Fredericton, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on June 14, 2006. Ernest was born in Kent County, N.B., to John and Dora Farrer, on December 11, 1912. He retired from the Chestnut Canoe Factory in 1978, and from various positions at the Capital Co-op. Ernest was a veteran of the 2nd World War, he attended the Devon Park Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and traveling in his travel-trailer. Ernest is survived by his loving wife, Alma; two sons, Howard (Barb) of Royal Road and Allison (Lynne McKenellex) of Marysville; daughter, Debra Farrer (Gary Allen) of Marysville; brother, Hiram Farrer (Margaret) of Salisbury, N.B., sister, Mabel Taylor of Alberta; six grandchildren, Michael Farrer, Stephanie Harris, Tracy Drahl, Darren Farrer, Tasha Furlong, and Adam Furlong; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Jessica, Kyle, Tori Reece, and Lily, along with several nieces and nephews. Ernest was predeceased by son, William; five brothers, Jimmy, Willie, Albert, Isaac and Lester, and two sisters, Ruth Roberts and Annie Reid. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9, at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton, N.B. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 17, 2006 at 2 pm from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lawrence Meade officiating. Interment will be held in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service are: Michael Farrer, Darren Farrer, Doug Forbes, Ronnie Worrall, Paul Fullarton and Jim Gallagher.
