GEORGE STANLEY LAWSON

LAWSON, GEORGE STANLEY The passing of George Stanley Lawson, of Fredericton, occurred after a brief illness at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on June 19, 2006. Born in Rexton, NB, he was a son of the late Victor and Alice (Wilson) Lawson. Mr. Lawson retired from Wood Motors after 28 years of service and was a Veteran of the 2nd World War, serving in England with the Artillery Unit. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4, where he received his 55 year pin the summer of 2005. Mr. Lawson enjoyed retirement and spent his summers at Jardine Park in their Travel Trailer, he also enjoyed music, family, grandchildren and his special care given to his wife during her illnesses. Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gertrude (Gertie) (Dunlay) Lawson; two daughters, Judy Lawson of Fredericton and Cheryl (Brian) Stewart of Fredericton; three grandchildren, Patrick, Andrew and Julie Stewart all of South Korea; two sisters, Marion Murray of Dorchester and Eileen (John) Burris of Moncton; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Herbert (Bert) Lawson. By request there will be no visitation. A private Graveside Service will be held in the Douglas Rural Cemetery with Rev. Reginald Miller officiating. For those who wish remembrances to the New Brunswick Lung Association or to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
