PAUL S. ROLLINS

ROLLINS, PAUL S. The death of Paul S. Rollins of Minto, NB occurred Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at his home. Born in Newcastle Bridge, NB he was the son of the late Clarence and Hattie (McLellan) Rollins. Paul represented the people of Minto on Village Council for 16 years, where 3 of those years he served as mayor, 9 years as deputy mayor and was Past-President of the NB Villages Association. He served on numerous local and provincial committees and boards; he was currently the Zone 3 Chairperson of the NB Hockey Officials Association, and has made significant contributions to Minto Minor Hockey since its inception from coaching, officiating, scheduling and organizing numerous tournaments. In recent years he played a strong role in developing the Minto Country Music Wall of Fame and has been an active and participating member of the Ridgeview Greens Golf Club. He was recently approached for his knowledge and assistance to serve on the new Minto Sports Wall of Fame Committee. Survived by his loving wife Anna (Belliveau) Rollins of Minto, NB; a daughter, Vicki Rollins of Toronto; a son, Jason Rollins (Sherri) of North Carolina; 17 month old grandson Maddox; brothers Willard (Mary Lou) and Terry (Ann) both of Saint John; sisters Roberta Rice of Fredericton, Hilda Powell of Saint John, Ruth Leavitt (Marshall) of St. George and Marilyn Rees (Walter) of Saint John; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by a brother, Howard and a sister, Mabel Sposobiec. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home (327-3490) with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 22nd, 2006 at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church, 819 Pleasant Drive, Newcastle Bridge, with Pastors Darrel Powers and Darrel McLellan officiating. Interment will follow in the United Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish donations made to the Youth Centre of Minto or the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
