Best Bernice (Bernie) Best, passed away July 17, 2008. Bernie attended Blofield School and took her grade 11 and 12 in Moose Jaw. She was noted for her high spirits and love for her family time. Bernie was working at Joyners when she met Ray Best and they were married in 1949. Ray worked for the Sask. Wheat Pool and they lived in many communities before retiring to Moose Jaw in 1986. They also loved to travel in Canada and the U.S.A. Predeceased by her daughter Laura, sister Dorothy and parents Madison and Lena Bruce, Bernie is survived by her life long partner and best friend, husband Ray - Moose Jaw; sons Steve - Edmonton and, Kelly (Deb) - Saskatoon; grandchildren Laura and Jeff (Monica) - Airdrie, Caitlin - Calgary and Connor - Vancouver, and two great-granddaughters Emily and Hailey of Airdrie; sister Helen (George), and brother Rob (Joyce); and many nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Bernie's life will be held at W.J.Jones & Son Chapel on Friday August 15, 2008 at 1:30 pm. Linda Owens will officiate. A private interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Moose Jaw Union Hospital Auxiliary, would be appreciated. In living memory of Bernie, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
