THOMAS C. CHIASSON

CHIASSON, THOMAS C. The passing of Thomas Charles Chiasson of Fredericton occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Monday, October 9, 2006. He was 94. Born January 23, 1912 at Grand Etang, NS, he was the son of the late Daniel and Suzanne (Aucoin) Chiasson. He served with the R.C.A.F. from 1942-1945 as a Radar Technician. Thomas graduated from MacDonald College with a Bachelor of Science degree (Agriculture) in 1935 followed by a Masters Degree in 1955. He moved to Fredericton in 1937 to begin employment at the Experimental Station. He married Della Meade in 1942. He retired in January 1972 and moved to Cape Breton. In 1979 he returned to Fredericton and lived with his son following the passing of his wife in 1993. In October 2003 he moved to Pine Grove Nursing Home where he resided until his death. Thomas is survived by a daughter, Lynda Birks (Michael) of Charters Settlement and a son Charles (Judith) Chiasson of Fredericton; grandchildren, Jonathan and Karen Humes, Holly Golding and Adam Chiasson; five great grandchildren; a sister, Sister Catherine of Moncton and a brother Alphonse (Mary) of Cape Breton, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held from Bishop's Funeral Home Chapel, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Monte Peters officiating.
