McGLASHEN, MILDRED The passing of Mildred Elizabeth McGlashen nee. Shipley, wife of the late James R. McGlashen, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on October 17, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 19, 1927 in West Leicester, Cumberland County, NS, she was a daughter of the late George and Juanita (Atkinson) Shipley. Mildred retired as a Registered Maternity Nurse. She loved to knit and collect yarn. She is survived by three daughters, Laura Bates (Brian) of Fredericton, Marjorie Elliott (Timothy) of Chipman; Karen Doiron (Lucien) of Nashwaak Bridge; two sons, Reg McGlashen (Mary) of Rocky Mountain House, AB and Ian McGlashen (Julie) of Fredericton; one step-son, Eric McGlashen (Darlene) of ON; 16 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Wilfred Shipley of Fredericton; one sister, Patricia Grey (Bruce) of Fredericton; one sister-in-law, Muriel Lohnes & family of Saint John and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Marysville Baptist Church on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 3 pm with Rev. David DuBois officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to take place at River Bank Cemetery at a later date.
