MACQUARRIE, LLOYD GIRVAN L. Girvan MacQuarrie of Harvey Station passed away December 29, 2006 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Girvan was born in Saint John in 1924, a son of the late Daniel and Lillian (Girvan) MacQuarrie. He graduated from UNB in 1948 and began work with the New Brunswick Department of Transportation as a civil engineer. He later was employed with the federal government until his retirement in 1978. Girvan is survived by his wife, Betty I. (McGee) MacQuarrie; a daughter, Marta MacQuarrie, Fredericton; a son, David MacQuarrie, Oakville, Ontario; two granddaughters, Morgan MacQuarrie, England and Sarah MacQuarrie, Ontario; a sister, Joyce McDowell, Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Stuart MacQuarrie. Visiting hours will be held at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Rev. George Clark officiating. Interment will be later at Harvey Settlement Cemetery.
