DEPOW, HARRY A. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harry Andrew Depow on January 14th, 2007, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness. Harry was the beloved husband of Mary Louise (Price) Depow. He will always be remembered with much love by his wife Mary; children Anne (Bob) Dutcher, Brockville, On; Nancy Depow-Mitchell (David), Wickham, NB; Andy Depow, Islandview, NB; Allison Depow (Mary) Fredericton, NB; Susan Conners (Don), Glenburnie, On; Gail Depow (Steve), Red Deer, AB, Peter Depow (Karen), Edmonton, AB; Paul Depow (Terri Lee), St. Stephen, NB; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Robert Price, Canterbury; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Harry's great love was his family. He dearly enjoyed the children and keeping the family connections open. He was predeceased by his mother and father and his much loved brothers Ned (Marie), Wilfred (Corrine), Bill (Helen) and his beloved sister Mary St. Pierre (Gerald). He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Harry was a veteran of World War II, and served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941-1945. Following the war, he returned to his hometown of Canterbury and started his own meat cutting and grocery business for 18 years, while serving as Parish Assessor, Parish of Canterbury until 1962. From 1962 until 1971, Harry worked as the Assessment Coordinator, Department of Municipal Affairs, Assessment Branch. In 1971, Harry moved his family to Fredericton to assume the position of Chief Assessor, Department of Municipal Affairs, Province of New Brunswick until his retirement in 1985. Following his retirement, Harry worked as a private Real Estate Consultant. He was a longtime and active member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. The family will receive visitors at McAdam's Select Community Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB, on Wednesday, January 17th, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Springhill, on Thursday, January 18th, 2007 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Dr. Ross N. Hebb officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Canterbury, NB. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 will hold a tribute service at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to St. Peter's Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. www.mcadamsfh.com
