EVELYN LILLIAN (TOTTIE) BURTT

BURTT, EVELYN LILLIAN (TOTTIE) The death of Evelyn Lillian (Tottie) (nee Foster) Burtt occurred on Monday, January 15th, 2007 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in Fredericton, NB she was the daughter of the late Judson Stanley and Mabel (nee White) Foster. Evelyn worked at various jobs while acting as the primary care giver for her first husband during his lengthy illness until his death in 1944. Following World War II, she and her second husband Bill moved to Calais, Maine to work with her sister and her husband to help manage an AAA rated business, Heslins Motel, Dinning Room and Cabins. Upon retirement, she and Bill returned to Fredericton. Evelyn was an avid Bingo player throughout her life and until her recent illness, she still enjoyed watching different sports. Evelyn's stories and recitations that she sang from her childhood will be among the many cherished memories her family and friends will have. Evelyn is survived by her son, Eric M. Logan of Fredericton, NB; two granddaughters, Beth Ann Logan of Fredericton, NB and Joan Walker (John) of Gibsons, BC; one great-grandson, Adam Walker of Gibsons, BC; one sister, Betty McGloin of Fredericton, NB and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; first husband, Herbert B. Logan in 1944; second husband, William (Bill) Gabriel Burtt in 1994; one grandson, Paul Eric Logan; five sisters, Violet Heslin, Doris Oliver, Jean Drew, Mary (Bobby) Peed and Mildred Jones; one brother, Cecil Foster and one son-in-law, Dave McGloin. At Evelyn's request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be held in the Zealand Anglican Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the Canadian Cancer Society, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
